Immediately following, he delivered his Inaugural Address to a sea of flag-waving Americans stretching down the National Mall to the Lincoln Memorial and beyond.

Thousands gathered at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. for the "We Are One" concert today celebrating the life of Marting Luther King, Jr. as well as "change" in America. Prez-Elect Barack Obama and First Lady Elect Michelle O. arrived at the event to watch performances by Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, Usher, John Legend, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce and others. HBO aired the event free to viewers.

BEYONCE, MARY J. AND OTHERS TO PERFORM FOR INAUGURATION

What kind of event could bring Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springstein, Usher, Will.I.Am, John Mellencamp, Shakira, Garth Brooks, Sheryl Crow and Josh Groban together to share a stage? A massive charity concert? A glitzy awards show? Nope. The inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama. Those celebrities and a ton of others have signed up to perform at “We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial,” the first of many official events sponsored by the Presidential Inaugural Committee. According to the The Washington Post, the 90-minute concert will begin on Sunday at 2 p.m., and HBO will air it for free (for all cable and satellite subscribers) that night at 7 p.m.

RIHANNA TO PERFORM AT BENEFIT FOR OBAMA INAUGURATION

Rihanna will perform an inaugural benefit for President-elect Barack Obama on January 20 in our nation's capitol. The Good Girl Gone Bad will hit the stage for the Recording Industry Association of America’s Presidential Inauguration Charity Ball, which benefits Feeding America — the largest hunger relief organization in America. “Rihanna’s always willing to help out — she’s a good girl,” a source reveals to People magazine. Vicki Escarra, president and CEO of Feeding America, adds, “We could not be happier that Rihanna will be performing at the Inauguration charity ball to benefit Feeding America.

Watch as President George W. Bush ducks two shoes thrown at him by an Iraqi reporter during a press conference in the Iraqi prime minister’s office to mark the signing of a security agreement.

OBAMA COVERS VIBE MAG

Barack Obama appears on the cover of the November issue of Vibe magazine. In it is a letter from the Democratic presidential candidate - where in which he addresses the members of the urban community.

Obama urges blacks to register to vote. “I can’t do it alone. I need you,” he says.

This issue marks the first time in history that the leading lifestyle publication has ever formally endorsed a Presidential nominee.

The issue will be available on newsstands nationwide on October 21st.

OBAMA APPEARS ON BILL O'REILLY

Our future President did extremely well against 'media bully' Bill O’Reilly. Every attack has been handled as it have been. Very calm, and owning the conversation. Obama is caculated in everything he does/says…just the temperament the boss should have.

Everyone that’s riding with Obama needs to get everybody they know out to the polls on Nov. 4th. McCain and Palin are far from ready to ride on everything you love.

MICHELLE OBAMA IN THAKOON

While other first ladies and political women often sport the likes of Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera, Michelle Obama has taken to the rising stars. She rocked a printed Thakoon dress along with three Erickson Beamon broaches the night her husband delivered his nomination acceptance speech.

It's a big coup for Thakoon Panchigul, who was recently approved for membership in the CFDA.

"I am incredibly honored that Michelle Obama chose to wear a dress from my collection on such a historical night for her, her family and this country," the designer said.

I urge everyone to watch full speech that Presidentail hopeful Barack Obama’s delivered last night at the Democratic National Convention. More than 84,000 people jammed into Invesco Field at Mile High stadium to hear him accept this historic nomination.

Obama explained to a roaring crowd that we must decide between four more of the last eight years or a new direction aimed at ending the conflict in Iraq and easing economic insecurities of working families.

TOM FORD FUNDRAISES FOR OBAMA

According to WWD, Tom Ford is co-hosting a fund-raiser for Barack Obama in L.A. at which, much like the Calvin Klein/Vogue fundraiser, Michelle Obama will rub elbows with fashion- and entertainment-industry types.

And while we're on the subject, today is the uber-chic designer's birthday. Who knew 47 could look this good.

MICHELLE OBAMA'S DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION SPEECH

Michelle Obama declared "I love this country" Monday as she sought to reassure the nation that she and her husband Barack share Americans' bedrock values and belief in a dream of a better future. She was amazing! Incredibly poised and very eloquently spoken. Best of all, she blew that whole "elitist" garbage right out of the water! So let's contrast this down to earth woman with the wife of her husband's opponent. Yeah, good luck with that.

THE DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION COULD BE LIKE FASHION WEEK

Next week's Democratic National Convention and the events surrounding it just might be to Denver what Fashion Week is to New York, Paris, London, or Milan. Fashionable celebrities like Ben Affleck, Spike Lee, Anne Hathaway, and Kerry Washington have confirmed their attendance; fashion-industry faves Kanye West and Cyndi Lauper will perform; and the Huffington Post's "Oasis" lounge will offer yoga, massage, and aromatherapy to delegates. Even New York Fashion Week doesn't have a lounge like that! (SMH at Mercedes-Benz.)

As I'm sure most of you already may have seen, or heard, Vanity Fair's Best Dressed (First) lady Michelle Obama graces the September cover of Ebony magazine. But I bet what you didn't know is that the suit she is rocking... Alexander McQueen.
