shade: TOM FORD 'PABLO' AVIATORS

This classic aviator shape is not a new look but the fit that these Tom Ford 'Pablos' afford may be. As Eyegoodies mentions, “Real sunglass history buffs will notice the influence of an old (1970?s) Ted Lapidus aviator with the plastic inserts in, and the Porsche Design Aviators (1980?s) with the plastic inserts out. The Pablo is offered in 3 colors gold/light havana (pictured above), gunmetal/dark havana, and gold/black. This is a very unique piece offering 2 different looks built into one pair of sunglasses.” The Pablo’s feature two sets of interchangeable lenses which help balance the sunshine.

VIDEO | LAGERFELD AND TOM FORD INTERVIEW, TOGETHER!

Tom Ford sat down with Time to explain why his menswear line is so great. And he brought along one of his customers to back him up: Karl Lagerfeld. "It's made differently and ready-to-wear," Karl says. "This quality didn't [used to] exist. You had to fit 40 times before you had a suit. Something I hate is to be touched by strangers." But Karl loves how the arm holes in Tom's suits are cut close to the body so when you raise an arm, the arm "follows your will, but not the jacket." He adds jackets that do that are "for the garbage." Tom says he started his own line with menswear because he couldn't find anything to wear. "Tom is not a drag queen — he started with men's clothes because he wanted clothes for him," Karl emphasizes. And of course, Tom insists on flattering Karl, too. Watch the love on video below. If I was in this room, I would have DIED.

According to WWD, Tom Ford is co-hosting a fund-raiser for Barack Obama in L.A. at which, much like the Calvin Klein/Vogue fundraiser, Michelle Obama will rub elbows with fashion- and entertainment-industry types.

And while we're on the subject, today is the uber-chic designer's birthday. Who knew 47 could look this good.

Milan Men's Fashion Week

The men's shows are under way in Milan, and we've already seen some pretty memorable things so far. The front row lined with celebs, Naomi Campbell walking in Dolce & Gabbana's lounge-inspired show, and man dresses by Prada, anyone?

We got a posh pastel moment at Versace, when the label staged their spring 2009 men's collection before an eclectic audience including Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri, Allegra Versace, Anna Wintour and Tom Ford, in the midst of campaign to re-establish himself as a major Milan player.

Donatella Versace dedicated the collection to Barack Obama. Calling him the "man of the moment" and said that it was for "a relaxed man who doesn't need to flex muscles to show he has power."
