JOHNNY DEPP NAMED MOST STYLISH MAN IN THE WORLD MY GQ MAGAZINE

February's GQ is devoted to the 25 most stylish men in the world. Johnny Depp, though named the most stylish, appears on the cover not wearing any clothes — you know, those things that generally comprises style. GQ calls him "a unicorn — a really glamorous, one-of-a-kind eccentric." Others who made the list include Pharrell Williams, Jude Law, Andre 3000, Brad Pitt, Jay-Z and Lebron James. David Beckham is also on the list and pictured in the issue from the waist up, shirtless. We eagerly await a follow-up story on the world's top 25 male torsos. [GQ]

scene: CHRIS BROWN ATTENDS MILAN FASHION WEEK

Chris Brown has been making his rounds at Milan Fashion Week. He was spotted on the front row at Vivienne Westwood wearing a pair of the designers,' plaid & polka dot, saddle shoes from their Men’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection. He was later seen arriving at the John Richmond showing rocking a Fur collar jacket, belt and shirt all from their Fall/Winter 2009 menswear collection. He's attended a handful of shows this season, including Costume National Homme and a private event for Missoni. "I might check out some of the couture shows in Paris too," he said. (The couture shows in Paris immediately follow the men's presentations there.) My only question.. where did this interest in fashion come from suddenly?? Thoughts?

recap: MEN'S FASHION WEEK | PRADA 2010

Prada, fall 2010.

The most wonderful time of the year is finally upon us: Men's Fashion Week! The fall 2010 shows began over the weekend in Milan, and the overall trend seems to be that designers are playing it safe for yet another season, after sales of menswear declined almost 10 percent in 2009 from the previous year. Buyers don't want anything too crazy, since flash is still out. However, the beauty of menswear is that even when designers think they're playing it safe, the clothes they put on the runway would still look absurd on average dudes.

Prada presented a collection that would make anyone feel right at home in Harvard Yard, with tweed blazers to crew neck pullovers and casual slacks. The "preppy" collection shown Sunday was so normal it might have risked boredom were it not for the designers fashion genius. Thus simple crew neck sweaters had an almost plunging neckline and were cropped above the waist to reveal the classic blue shirt underneath.

David Agbodji appears in the Steven Klein shot campaign for the Spring 2010 Calvin Klein collection. I love this campaign & the limitations it has pushed. The images  are an obvious celebration of black, with such a deep sense of sophistication and emotion behind them. David is represented by Request models, and this is his campaign debut. I'm absolutely sure it won't be his last. Art direction for the campaign by Fabien Baron.

On her fashion sense: “My stylist Mariel Haenn and I always try to do something sexy but never too girly—we always try to put a little toughness in there.”

trend alert: KID CUDI ROCKS A (SKIRT) KILT

While Lady Gaga was in town performing her New Year’s Eve concert at the FontaineBleau Hotel, her old tour mate Kid Cudi was performing with John Legend the same night at the W for their New year’s Eve party on South Beach. And he wore a skirt.Yes, we know that it's technically called a “kilt” … but we’re not in Scotland, are we?

This of course isn't the first time we've seen this. Marc Jacobs rocked kilts for nearly a year after debuting his S|S 09 Collection in one. He was actually quoted as saying that they "make him happy." But what I wanna know is, how happy do they make you Kudi?? *Blank Stare* There's no need to fear, I don't foresee this being a trend that will catch wave anytime soon..

'PRECIOUS' STAR GABOUREY SIBIDE COVERS V MAG SIZE ISSUE

Previews of V magazine's size issue have leaked, and finally a glimpse of the covers are out. The issue appears to have two separate cover girls of two very different sizes. One features breakout star from the movie 'Precious,' Gabourey Sidibe (pictured left)  and the other, Dakota Fanning. As with the spreads that have leaked so far from the issue, the covers are also lacking a model to bridge the size extremes.

This year’s crowd rolled over a thousand deep, and this upcoming show is poised to surpass that number and pack the house. While Lanvin who receives most of the attention around the luxury sneaker trend, I’ve personally been a fan of Balenciaga’s contribution to the mix for the past few seasons, this coming season being no exception. Nicolas Ghesquière has turned the french fashion house into a force to be reckoned with since his takover in 1997, and continues to do so with menswear not being left aside. The past few seasons have seen Balenciagas sneakers kept to mainly monotone colour sets, this year things are changed up a little, with a mixure of materials also playing a role.

There’s no denying that 2009 was  a very eventful year.  So we decided to send it off with a round up of the years' most memorable moments.  We'll start off  with the Inauguration of President Barack Obama. Beyonce attended the ceremony where she serenaded the first couple with Etta James' "At Last" as they shared their first dance. 

Kanye West stole Taylor Swift’s shine at the year’s VMA’s. He received a lot of media backlash and eventually went into hiding.

Rihanna and Chris Brown made the news after their seemingly perfect romance turned awry when Chris laid the smackdown on her the night before the Grammy Awards in L.A.

Arguably the funniest and most joked about moment was when Lil Mama hopped on stage and crashed Jay-Z and Alicia Key’s set of “Empire State of Mind”.

Kanye replaced ex-girlfriend Alexis Phifer with bald headed video vixen Amber Rose who quickly became an instant celebrity. Amber went from working the pole for cash to red carpet events, shopping sprees and even front row seats at Fashion Week.

Hip-Hop’s royal couple (no not Jay-Z and Beyonce)  Nas and Kelis called it quits citing “irreconcilable differences”. Kelis took Nas to court claiming she was broke and needed him to hit her off with some spousal support, pay her legal fees, and among other things drop $20,000 on baby Knight’s stroller, crib and other baby supplies. A judge sided with the “Milkshake” singer and ordered Nas to pay her $44,000 a month in child support.

And lastly, the REAL queen of all media Oprah Winfrey announced that she would be retiring her show in 2011 after a 25 year run.

I think this is without doubt Van Assche’s best collection yet for Dior Homme. It’s simple and clean, yet iconic enough to adorn the Dior Homme name.
