DRAKE GETS KANYE TO DIRECT HIS NEXT VIDEO

Drake continues to gain buzz in the music industry by shooting the video for his latest single “Best I Ever Had.” One of Drake’s biggest musical influences, Kanye West will direct the video that will reportedly feature cameos from major rappers Jay-Z and Lil Wayne, plus Common, Fabolous, Trey Songz and other Young Money affiliates.

In related news, Miss Info recently interviewed Mary J Blige who described Drake as a “Savior.” Backstage at this years Summer Jam concert, Mary J saID that “the kid Drake is amazing,” continuing “he can spit. I heard his album, he’s incrediable. I only want to mess with people who are really really dope.”

"WE ARE ONE" BARACK OBAMA | MLK CELEBRATION

Thousands gathered at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. for the "We Are One" concert today celebrating the life of Marting Luther King, Jr. as well as "change" in America. Prez-Elect Barack Obama and First Lady Elect Michelle O. arrived at the event to watch performances by Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, Usher, John Legend, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce and others. HBO aired the event free to viewers.

BEYONCE, MARY J. AND OTHERS TO PERFORM FOR INAUGURATION

What kind of event could bring Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springstein, Usher, Will.I.Am, John Mellencamp, Shakira, Garth Brooks, Sheryl Crow and Josh Groban together to share a stage? A massive charity concert? A glitzy awards show? Nope. The inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama. Those celebrities and a ton of others have signed up to perform at “We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial,” the first of many official events sponsored by the Presidential Inaugural Committee. According to the The Washington Post, the 90-minute concert will begin on Sunday at 2 p.m., and HBO will air it for free (for all cable and satellite subscribers) that night at 7 p.m.

DIVAS STAND UP TO CANCER

The song, which reunites producers Babyface and L.A. Reid, can be purchased at iTunes starting September 2 and will be performed during the September 5 Stand Up to Cancer special (whichwill air on ABC, CBS and NBC at 8 p.m.).

2008 ESSENCE MUSIC FESTIVAL

The 2008 Essence Music Festival went down over the weekend, which took place jointly at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and Louisiana Superdome.. The three day star-studded event included a range of live performances, seminars and meets and greets. Performers included Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Keyshia Cole, Rihanna, Kanye West, Patti Labelle and many more. Other artists, celebrities, producers, label execs and actors were in attendance of the weekend extravaganza.

'Weary' Mary J Blige Postpones Tour

Mary J Blige has cancelled what was to be her first Australasian tour.

The proclaimed Queen of Hip-Hop/R&B, who just wrapped the Heart of the City Tour with Jay Z in the US, is currently performing dates in Britain. However her overwhelming tour schedule has left her desperate for rest and she will not be making the trip to Australia this weekend as planned. Instead, the dates will be postponed to November.

In a statement the singer says:

“I want to thank all of my wonderful fans who supported the announcement of my first tour in these countries and I can’t tell you how excited I was to come down in June and put on a show for you all. Postponing these shows has been an extremely difficult decision for me and I am sincerely sorry that I will not be able to fulfil my tour commitments.”

BET Awards 2008 News: Host, More Performers Announced

With the 2008 BET Awards just around, more information about the much anticipated show has been announced.

Comedian D.L Hughley has been revealed as this year's host, while nominees Alicia Keys, Chris Brown and Kanye West have joined the performance roster - which already boasts showings by Mariah Carey, Usher, Lil Wayne, Mary J. Blige and more. The show takes June 24th live from the Shrine Auditorium in L.A.

More celebs show up at the film festival in Cannes, France. We have Mary J Blige arrivng looking absolutely fabulous in red beaded gown. I've grown to love and appreciate her so much more ever since I saw her in concert earlier this month at the Heart of the City tour with Jay.

Diddy, who was also among those in attendance, posed for the camera in his white and black tux.

And in L.A. the strikingly beautiful Eva walked the carpet of the NAACP Theatre Awards.
