Beyonce Covers Billboard Magazine: “No One Can Define Me”

Beyonce graces the latest cover of Billboard Magazine, which was unveiled just days after it was announced that she would be receiving Billboards’ first ever Millennium Award. Inside, she reveals that her new album will be titled, “4″.

We all have special numbers in our lives, and 4 is that for me. It’s the day I was born. My mother’s birthday and a lot of my friends’ birthdays are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date

She also discusses her decision to release “Who Run The World (Girls)”, her publicized split with her father Mathew Knowles and her thoughts on “Power”. Check out some highlights below:

[Run The World (Girls)] is definitely riskier than something a bit more…simple. I just heard the track and loved that it was so different: it felt a bit African, a bit electronic and futuristic. It reminded me of what I love, which is mixing different cultures and eras — things that typically don’t go together — to create a new sound. I can never be safe; I always try and go against the grain. As soon as I accomplish one thing, I just set a higher goal. That’s how I’ve gotten to where I am.

Jennifer Hudson Clears Up Beyonce & Rihanna Comments

Power singer Jennifer Hudson had to defend herself from Rihanna and Beyonce stans over the weekend after comments she made in a recent interview hit the internet. While speaking to The Daily Mirror after a show in London, Jennifer boasted about her lean figure, saying:

“I’ve love my new figure. All the fabulous clothes I can wear and get sent, I joke that I’m like a walking billboard now. But I won’t be taking my clothes off – no way at all. Beyonce and Rihanna can have that. I like to cover up more. I won’t do Playboy. Playboy can call, and wait. That’s just not me.”

After heavy backlash from fans of both singers, Jennifer attempted to clear the air by tweeting:

“I think [y'all] know me better than that. I love both Beyonce [and] Rihanna. I hate when people try to be messy. [Bey] and Ri know me better than that 2.”

I love me some J. Hud as much as the rest of them, but she didn’t deny saying it, which would be the only way that her comments would be “messy”, however I’m sure her original statement was blown out of proportion.

Few days ago, i was opportuned to watch al 90-minute feature presentation of Beyonce’s “I Am…World Tour”. The DVD was a conglomerate of performance clips from her last tour along with behind the scenes of the production and a look at the REAL Beyonce. Agreed my twitter head was getting it's LIFE with the proclaimed diva presentation; however, Beyonce was not the only one getting the attention. My  BFF was all over...curious to know who was the fine sexy chocolate dancer accompanying Beyonce throughout the show...

So of course i did a little research and with he help of the ever so popular social networking sites Twitter & Facebook, i saved tehe day for my BFF... found him! His name is Khasan Brailsford...then i thought..yeah! i should share this with my very loyal readers...so..here you have it...

Khasan trained at the Edge Performing Arts Center under their scholarship program. Since then, he has gone on to work with various artists in the entertainment industry. He has toured with Beyonce, Rihanna, Keyshia Cole, and Paulina Rubio. In addition to that, he has worked on music videos, award shows, etc with Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Queen Latifah, Alexandra Burke, Kelly Rowland, and more. He also was assistant choreographer for the music video Beyonce “Video Phone”..

Just what glorious gift has Beyonce brought us this cold, hung-over Friday? Her very own fragrance, of course. She is aiming to light a much-needed fire under the beleaguered fragrance business this February with the release of her first scent, Beyoncé Heat. Industry sources estimate it could do $100 million at retail globally in its first year on counter. At least half of that figure is expected to come from U.S. sales. “A lot of my performances have had fire involved, so we thought ‘Heat,’" she told WWD. As for the red-and-gold bottle: "Also, red is one of my favorite colors, as is gold."

news: GRAMMY NOMS ARE IN | DID KANYE GET SNUBBED?

Beyonce and Taylor Swift, as expected, were the leading nominees for the 52nd annual Grammy Awards. Beyonce leads the pack 10 nominations; Swift pulled in eight. Both women are up for the "Big Three" awards-Album, Record and Song of the Year. But so, in no surprise, is dance/pop sensation Lady Gaga.

A big surprise was the absence in nominations for Kanye West. His first three joints were all finalists for Album of the Year, but his fourth release, 808s & Heartbreak, was passed over for that award. (It didn't even get a nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album. West's first three albums won as Best Rap Album, but this one was slotted in the pop field.) West's smash "Heartless" was also passed over for Record of the Year, despite covers by The Fray and Kris Allen, which boosted its profile. West clearly seems to have been hurt by his widely-criticized rudeness toward Swift at the Video Music Awards. I wonder, did his outburst at MTV impact Grammy nods?? Things that make you go hmmm.

CHRIS MARCH SUES THIERRY MUGLER OVER BEYONCE COSTUMES

Project Runway alum Chris March is suing Thierry Mugler for allegedly not paying him for work he did on Beyoncé's costumes for her current I AM tour. That sentence was a lot to take in: Chris March, Beyoncé, Thierry Mugler, a lawsuit. We had know idea Chris even worked on costumes for Beyoncé — and her band and her backup dancers — until the suit surfaced. Reached by phone this afternoon, Chris explained he's worked with Thierry for almost seven years on various projects, including Cirque du Soleil costumes. Beyoncé hired Mugler to create her tour costumes in November, and Chris met with Mugler about the project in late December. In January he started work.

Beyoncé and Lady Gaga each earned nine nominations, including one for Video of the Year — Bey for "Single Ladies" and Gaga for "Poker Face." It's black leotards and a silver glove versus pleather bodysuits in and a silver face chain. And then there's the sartorial battle to be waged on the red carpet and in any live performances they may do. If Beyoncé wants to top Gaga, she's going to have to do better than strapping a train around her waist.

BEYONCE ABOUT TO GET SLAPPED WITH A LAWSUIT

A pullout by Beyoncé Knowles has a NYC clubowner threatening a million-dollar lawsuit. The singer was slated to perform tomorrow at M2 — the West 27th Street nightclub formerly known as Mansion — as part of the launch of her “I Am . . . Sasha Fierce” North American tour. M2 owner Joey Morrissey agreed to pay the singer $200,000 for the gig, he says.

Sadly, on Wednesday Beyoncé’s people suddenly pulled the plug on the performance, despite having signed a contract that had prompted Morrissey to spend $100,000 preparing for the show, according to the clubowner. “They said they were too busy with the launching of the tour and that they wouldn’t have time to do the kickoff party,” Morrissey tells Page Six. To make up for the cancellation, Morrissey says Beyoncé offered to stop by the club “to hang out for an hour” on Sunday. He adds, “I mean, we sold tables for thousands of dollars for the show, and spent $100,000 renting a soundboard and other equipment, as per their stipulations. What good does her showing up for an hour do me? They’ve been totally unwilling to agree to another show.”As a result, Morrissey says he’s now preparing to file suit against Beyoncé, claiming his place has suffered a “loss of reputation” in addition to the sunk cash. “We had an overwhelming response from our clubgoers, who were lining up to buy tickets and tables. This will come as a great disappointment to all of them,” he claims, adding, “If Beyoncé cancels and doesn’t give us a new date, this hurts our credibility in night life.”
