THIS YEAR'S VMAs TO BE A DIVA FASHION BATTLE

Beyoncé and Lady Gaga each earned nine nominations, including one for Video of the YearBey for "Single Ladies" and Gaga for "Poker Face." It's black leotards and a silver glove versus pleather bodysuits in and a silver face chain. And then there's the sartorial battle to be waged on the red carpet and in any live performances they may do. If Beyoncé wants to top Gaga, she's going to have to do better than strapping a train around her waist.

MTB4 SEASON FINALE

After much speculation, Diddy dropped a bombshell on MTB 4 season finale, giving both ebony & ivory, D. Woods & Aubrey O’day their pink slips. Aubrey was in the building meanwhile D. Woods opted out due to "other obligations." Diddy broke down his reasoning for kicking the ladies out. hearing a ll three sides of the story - from the remaining girls, Aubrey and Puff himself - do you think the outcome of kicking both ladies out the group was to harsh? I have to admit... Aubrey is a problem child. She’s always been the out spoken and obnoxious one out the bunch -and that Complex cover editorial wasnot a good look-for her or Danity Kane. But after all, there is always one.

D.Woods was clearly kicked out by default. She did state she wasn’t happy. However, NONE of the girls were happy. You didn’t ask all of them-you just asked her. It appeared as if she was guilty by association. Do you think he is making the girls into a gimmick rather than a successful group? What did you think of Aubrey's outburst?

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER REALITY SHOW ON MTV

I wrote a couple days ago that I was semi-excited to see the direction MTV would take with their new reality series, From G's to Gents. I watched. I must admit that I was mildly entertained... But then something happened to snap me back into REAL - reality. I noticed a familiar face. It was model Zenel, whose career has morphed into something enviable with bookings for some major fashion labels. He's been featured in campaigns for Sean John, G-Unit and Azzure and has had a number of editorials in Complex, Source, Flaunt and XXL to name a few.

MTV describes him: Growing up in a wild and crazy neighborhood in the Bronx gave native Puerto Rican Zenel a tough outer shell. As far as he's concerned, a real G is king of the block, possessing both street smarts and leadership skills. Zenel thinks he's got plenty of both. Not sure if we're so convinced.

The show is hosted by Fonzworth Bentley and centers around 14 men from various parts of the country, who are 'too hood' for their own good - and helps them become gentlemen.

You can check out the audition video as well as a few shots of the "G" himself below. Hey Zenel, 'How you doin??' Shouts to Janard at FAVOREDFASHIONFIX

FONZWORTH BENTLEY ON "G's TO GENTS"

Tonight at 10:00 pm, Fonzworth Bentley will host MTV's Jamie Foxx–produced reality show, From G's to Gents, wherein he will attempt to transform fourteen guys from the streets into members of his Gentleman's Club.

Show producer Chris Abrego, who has had success with shows like VH1’s Flavor of Love and Rock of Love, says that the show will not rely on cheap laughs but will go alot deeper. I'm not going to lie — this show looks pretty good. There are so many tears
in the trailer alone… A lot of these guys, for the first time really, realized their self-worth, and that's a very emotional thing.

MTV Track Stars: Ryan Leslie

MTV’s Track Stars is a new web series which spotlights music’s top producers in the industry today. The show takes you behind the scenes and shows the making of a hit record. The goal is to get back to and understand the magic that lies within the actual creation of the music we bump through our I-pods, radios, etc. Sometimes it’s a lot more simple than you think, other times much more complicated.

The pilot for Track Stars features Ryan Leslie and gives you a look inside the creative process behind his smash hit Diamond Girl.

OVER THE WEEKEND: Hot 97's Summer Jam and the MTV Movie Awards

Hot 97 kicked off its annual Summer Jam concert at Giants Stadium on Sunday. Headliners included Alicia Keys, Kanye West and Lil Wayne. I didn't get a chance to attend however I hear that it was a OK show, that against all conceivable odds, turned into a NYC rap show packed with special guests. It had its high points but nothing monumental occured to have me regret missing it. And where was Rihanna????

OH... there she is, at the MTV Movie Awards which aired live last night. Apparently she was there to support boyfriend, Chris Brown, who had a dance-off with show host, Mike Myers. Other guests included Will Smith, who won Best Actor for his role in I Am Legend, T.I., and Jennifer Hudson.

(She looks really good)

T.I. Shooting a Reality Show for MTV

T.I. is turning his legal drama into an eight-episode MTV reality show.

Cameras will follow the rapper through many of his 1,000 hours of community service leading up to his yearlong prison sentence. Shooting will start this summer, T.I. will begin serving his sentence in early 2009, and MTV will air the series shortly after that. Shooting will respect his curfew of 1 am when working on a project, and 11pm otherwise.

The concept for the show apparently came about right after T.I. secured the plea bargain that brought his sentence down from four years to one.

T.I. said about the series, “Hopefully the mistakes I’ve made will be a lesson to today’s youth and they won’t go down that same path.”

The series will also follow T.I. through the August 12th release of his new album, Paper Trails.
