THIS WEEK ON THE CHARTS

Kanye West officially went platinum this week since his 808s & Heartbreak album debuted on the charts seven weeks ago. He has racked in a total of 1,023,900 copies sold. TI moved another 78,000 units to push his 13 week total to over 1.5 million sold, while Ludacris rang in with 58,300 units, putting him at 439,200 total after five weeks. Weezy continues to push numbers, landing at number 32 this week with a total of 2.87 million copies sold so far. On the R&B tip, Beyonce continues to control the sales charts pushing another 210,918 units sold, putting her total to almost 1.5 million, while Keyshia Cole saw “A Different Me” sale another 126,506 units sold putting her totals to near gold. And of course we couldn't forget about our boy, Soulja Boy who sold another whopping 34,370 copies pushing his two week total to just under 80,000 copies, claiming recylced paper status. He's going green ya'll.

Here’s a first look at the cover for Keyshia Cole’s third LP A Different Me featuring collaborations with Tupac, Kanye West, Nas, and Monica. The album will be available in stores and online on December 16th

DIVAS STAND UP TO CANCER

Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood are collaborating on the single Just Stand Up, for the Stand Up to Cancer campaign.

The song, which reunites producers Babyface and L.A. Reid, can be purchased at iTunes starting September 2 and will be performed during the September 5 Stand Up to Cancer special (whichwill air on ABC, CBS and NBC at 8 p.m.).

2008 ESSENCE MUSIC FESTIVAL

The 2008 Essence Music Festival went down over the weekend, which took place jointly at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and Louisiana Superdome.. The three day star-studded event included a range of live performances, seminars and meets and greets. Performers included Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Keyshia Cole, Rihanna, Kanye West, Patti Labelle and many more. Other artists, celebrities, producers, label execs and actors were in attendance of the weekend extravaganza.

Keyshia Cole was the scene stealer at the Essence Mag If Looks Could Kill party. With a new hairdo and new smile, she looked ultra sleek in a print wrap dress from Diane von Furstenberg's Spring '08 Collection($325). Keyshia Cole is looking unbelievable these days.

Toyota kicked off a new immersive entertainment campaign to market its 2009 Camry to black women. The party, in conjunction with Essence Magazine, was held last night at Beam in New York City and was attended by Keyshia Cole, who also performed, designer, stylist (and Kanye's ex) Alexis Phifer, and Mashonda.
