KARL LAGERFELD WISHES HE COULD BE A RAPPER

For the September issue of American Harper's Bazaar, some top designers were asked to live out their fantasies in a special editorial shoot.

Designers like Giorgio Armani, Alber Elbaz, and Roberto Cavalli chose to step into the roles of their silver screen icons. Karl Lagerfeld decided to become a rapper. Yes, you read correctly, a rapper.

In the issue, on newsstands now, the French designer donned a Billionaire Boys Club jacket, a pair of loose-fitting Phat Farm jeans, and a graphic Tee to emulate his favorite rap artists.

"Believe it or not, I love rap," he told the magazine.

CALUDIA SCHIFFER FOR CHANEL AUTUMN/WINTER '08 AD CAMPAIGN

Back in March I spotted Karl Lagerfeld, along with Claudia Schiffer and an entourage of others on 122nd St. in Harlem. I'd later find out that they were shooting the Fall/Winter 08-09 campaign for Chanel. I'd completely forgotten about it until I found myself thumbing through the new i-D Mag, with YSL's Stefano Pilato and Naomi Campbellon the cover, and there it was.

This is the second season in a row Claudia has fronted the Chanel advertising campaigns - that is after she was dropped back in 1996, after 5 years as the face of the French house when the heroin-chic look was at its peak. I'm so happy that the 37 year-old supermodel kept her position as the face of the brand even though her younger contemporaries, Coco Rocha and Masha Novoselova have fronted campaigned for Chanel’s Paris-London and Sport campaigns respectively. I love to see the old girls working.

Spotted: Beyonce Shopping in West Holloywood

Taking a break from banking millions, Beyonce enjoys a shopping spree in West Hollywood yesterday afternoon. She was spotted at American Apparel along with other shops along the strip.

Model Agyness Deyn Knows How to Party... In Style!

Fashion “it” girl, model Agyness Deyn proves to be the ultimate party girl, busying her evening first by attending the opening party for the new Chanel boutique on Dover Street in London, dripped up and drapped out in Chanel. She wore a black dress from their Spring '08 collection, complete with red arm-band and embellished gloves.

Afterward she migrated to The Club restaurant with some friends, and later ended up at the Karaoke Box in Soho where she sang her heart out. But the night could not end perfectly without sealing it off with an always intriguing, girl-on-girl kiss.

Lagerfeld Confidential DVD

For the fashion world, famed designer Karl Lagerfeld has always been perceived as sort of an enigma.For those of you not familiar, he has collaborated with a variety of different fashion houses, most notably Chanel but also Chloé and Fendi. He owns several labels, which he launched in the early 1980s, in various industries including perfume and clothing. He has also played a role in equipping leading artists.

In an attempt to understand a man that has such a huge impact on fashion, filmmaker Rodolphe Marconi set out to create the Lagerfeld Confidential, a film which features an in-depth look into Lagerfeld's life. Everything from his design process and interviews to partying with the stars are seen in a film which entered the cutting room with over 150 hours of filming.

span style="font-size:85%;">The latest in Bey and Jay news... The newlyweds were spotted leaving their hotel in Monte Carlo, Monaco yesterday, presumably to catch a departure flight at Nice Airport. Beyonce looked very chic, channeling Jackie Kennedy in her yellow outfit from Chanel's vintage collection. Her shades, gold hoops and bag, also Chanel, the perfect accessories to a great look. Her style has definitely evolved lately, establishing her as a credible fashion-world force. And we are eating it up.
