RAG & BONE OPENS IT'S FIRST STORE

Rag & Bone opened its first store in the West Village yesterday. Designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville selected a cozy 1,600-square-foot space at 104 Christopher Street in a mainly residential area. But with the always busy, Bleecker Street a block away, the new location isn't entirely removed from the Marc Jacobs and Magnolia Bakery foot traffic. When I went to check it out yesterday afternoon, customers continually filled the shop: Fashionistos shopped the menswear, a mother with a stroller stopped in, and a few stylish downtown girls were lured inside after a long look at the window displays. The predictably rustic interior includes showed brick walls, artsy furniture, and vintage trunks. And the clothes… oh, the clothes!!! Wardrobe staples like a black shirt jacket ($445) pairs nicely with the charcoal-gray cigarette trouser ($315) and a selection of buttery-soft cotton and cashmere tees and cardigans were more affordable. For women, work-friendly charcoal pencil skirt ($295) hung just a few feet from a pair of leather leggings that are so dope. That is if you have $1,440 to shell out for a pair of leggings. Be it leather or not. A double-breasted black blazer ($510), high-waist tuck pants ($370). And of course, a large selection of denim fills up the back wall. I dare say that I will definitelty return … after that holiday bonus rolls in.
