Sex and the City Wins 'Big' at Box Office

It comes as no surprise that the Sex and the City movie debuted at #1 over the weekend selling over $55.7 million. I truly enjoyed the movie despite its many bad reviews. It was everything a generation of label- and love-addled romantic wanted and more. The fashion was spectacularly dramatic and over the top - like when Sarah Jessica Parker wears a black Burberry coat to go shopping at Duane Reade, to when she sits at her laptop, in the privacy of her own home, in a Ninni Ricci sweater trimmed with hundreds of feathers. You just gotta love it. I always enjoy Pat Fields and her whimsical fairy-tale like stylings. And the closet the size of the third floor at Bergdorf's, ridiculous. A definite go see. There is already talk of a sequel.

Sex and the City Movie NYC Premiere

The pink carpet was rolled out andsprinkled with faux diamonds, as thousands of anxious fans lined the block of New York's Radio City Music Hall - their screams filling the air. The scene was set for the Sex And The City movie's über-fabulous homecoming premiere.

"It's one of the great nights of my professional career," boasted leading lady -Sarah Jessica Parker, who lived up to her cosmopolitain-sipping character's reputation, wearing a strapless silver Nina Ricci gown.

Cattrall wore a clingy metallic Vivienne Westwood dress, while Kristin Davis sparkled in a gold prom-style Donna Karan. And Cynthia Nixon, Narciso Rodriguez.

Guests included Patricia Fields, Mary J Blige, Lil Kim, Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child and Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour. The movie, in theaters this Friday.

I Had to Do it: Sarah Jessica Parker on Vogue

I tried mad hard not to get caught up in the hype of the Sex and the City movie, premiering in NYC on May 27. But when I passed by the newsstand and saw SJP on the cover of Vogue's June 2008 issue - and actually opened it to see the shoot, I had to post this. (Sorry Shy, LOL) I was absolutely awe-struck. The spread was shot by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz and tells a modern day fairy tale with perfect blend of love and couture. Oh, and there's some sex in there too. Dig this.
