SANTIAGO MEETS - 'Ga'valon Springfield'

I have had the rare opportunity of interviewing some of the finest models, both professionally or as chit-chat but not always do you come across that 'it' model who strikes that very cord in you and just makes you wanna keep going on and one without stopping...you know, it comes out naturally so much so that you just look for even the silliest questions just to keep that excitement going....Today on 'SANTIAGO MEET', am pleased to introduce the very finest...Ga'valon Springfield...a top African-American High Fashion/Print/Runway model based in the United States who is making it happen and proudly reppin' Africa.

Ga'valon  has worked, trained, and scouted with CHROME CLASS MODEL MANAGEMENT along with C.A.P. MODELS of Houston, Texas; currently with FASHION BOUDOIR INTERNATIONAL, ISABIS MODELS AND X2 MODELS.

What is your origin?
MY ORGIN IS VIA THE UNITED STATES BY WAY OF HOUSTON,TEXAS


Which agency do you belong to?
I AM WITH X2MODEL MANAGEMENT, ISABIS MODELMANAGEMENT, AND FASHION BOUDOIR INTERNATIONAL

When did you start modelling?
I STARTED MODELING IN FEBRUARY OF 2007

Were you inspired by any particular models?
I WAS INSPIRED BY TYSON BECKFORD, AND A MYRIAD OF THE NEW AND UPCOMING MODELS.

Do you think African models have the opportunity to succeed internationally?

I MOST SURELY DO BELIEVE THAT AFRICAN MODELS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SUCCEED INTERNATIONALLY, IT'S ALL IN THE LOOK AND BEING ABLE TO SELL THAT PARTICULAR IMAGE.

What else do you do aside modelling?
ASIDE FROM MODELING, I WORK IN SECURITY, AND LIKE TO READ AND STUDY ON THE SCIENTIFIC STUDIES OF LIFE.

Do you have any other ambitions?
I HAVE A MYRIAD OF AMBITIONS, YET I TAKE IT ONE STEP AT A TIME, NOT TRYING TO GET AHEAD OF MYSELF.

What have been some of the challenges for you?

MANY OF THE CHALLENGES FOR ME HAVE BEEN MOSTLY THE CHALLENGE OF SEEKING LEGIT PEOPLE TO WORK WITH AND THE AVAILABLE WORK NEEDED TO GET AHEAD IN THE MODELING INDUSTRY.

What’s the fiercest or wildest photo shoot or job you ever did?

TO DATE, I WOULD SAY ME ACTING AS A NERD...IT WAS SO OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE..BUT I PULLED IT OFF REALLY WELL.

Who is your favorite photographer?
MY FAVORITE PHOTOGRAPHER IS THE ONE WHOM CAN GET ME THE BEST IMAGES AND KNOWN WORK PUBLISHED.

What's a routine day for you like?
AT THE MOMENT A ROUTINE DAY FOR ME IS WORK, GYM, CHECKING EMAILS, REHEARSALS FOR FASHIONS SHOWS IF I HAVE ANY COMING UP, SLEEP, AND BACK TO WORK AT NIGHT.


What’s your workout session like?
MY WORKOUT SESSION IS PRETTY MUCH 3X A WEEK FOR NOW...UPPERBODY, LOWERBODY, THEN A FULL CYCLE WORKOUT PLUS ANY EXTRAS.

Any special diets or habits to stay in shape?
MY DIET CONSIST OF ALOT OF PROTEIN INTAKE, AND CARBS...IM HAVING TO PUT ON THE POUNDS...NOT LOOSE...LOL!

What’s your favourite African food?
DON'T HAVE A FAVORITE AT THE MOMENT BECAUSE I HAVN'T EXPERIENCED MUCH OF THE CUSINE...BUT IM SURE WHEN THE TIME COMES I WILL HAVE ALOT OF FAVORITES...IM NOT TOO MUCH OF A PICKY EATER.

What do you hope to achieve with your career?

I HOPE TO ACHIEVE AS BEING A KNOWN HAUTE COUTURE MALE MODEL...HIGH FASHION

IM ALL FOR THE EUROPEAN DESIGNERS

Trendiest fashion tip:
FORM FITTING, LESS IS BEST, AND SIMPLE

Suits or African wear:
I LIKE BOTH...THERE IS A TIME AND A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING

Boxers Shorts or briefs:
IM A BOXER BRIEF MAN...BUT BOXERS ARE COOL.

Cufflinks or buttons:
CUFFLINKS ARE MORE FASHIONABLE
BUTTONS ARE SECOND AT BEST...

Tie/ no tie:
A TIE IS ALSO FASHIONABLE...
NO TIE IS MORE CASUAL...

Leather watch or metallic watch:
METALLIC WATCH FOR ME...

Shoes or sandals:
SHOES ARE THE MAJORITY...
SANDALS ARE EUROPEAN, ITS ALL IN THE LOOK!

Roll-on deodorant or spray:
ROLL-ON...I DON'T KNO HOW I FEEL ABOUT SPRAY.

Razor or shaving machine:
EDGERS ARE BETTER FOR ME...THE BLACK AFRICAN AMERICAN MALE HAVE TO REALLY MAINTAIN A HEALTHY FACE...BECAUSE WERE KNOWN FOR BREAKOUTS OF STUBBORN HAIRS.

Tattoo or piercing:
THEY BOTH ARE OKAY WITH ME...AS LONG AS IT'S NOT OVERDONE.

Skinny jeans or baggy:
SKINNY JEANS IS TO FASHOIN AS BAGGY IS TO OUT OF STYLE...LOL

African beads or chains:
AFRICAN BEADS ARE MORE TRADITIONAL...
CHAINS...ABIT TOO MUCH FOR MY STYLE...

Favourite colour of cloths:
BLACK, DENIM, BLUE, AND BROWN...BUT IM OPEN TO ALL COLORS...VARIETY IS AT MOST!

Favourite perfume:
COLONGE UMM...BURBERRY TOUCH, BUT IM A SUCKER FOR A FRAGRANCE THAT SMELLS GOOD...I HAVE SUCH A COLLECTION OF COLONGES.
